ABSTRACT
The article presents the graduation speech delivered by Mitch Anderson, class salutatorian, at the June 7, 2013, graduation ceremony of Belton High School in Belton, Texas. He says that he is gay, and describes the internal struggle he has gone through over being able to know and accept himself. He cites bullying and other negative behavior he has endured. He suggests that individuality should be celebrated.
