ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "dogma" is presented. The term has been associated with the collective, intellectual theology of the Church, though it was first used by the Greeks some 400 years before Christ. It refers to orthodoxy that which must be believed since tradition has come to a true consensus. It points out that those who disagree with Christian dogma are no longer subjected to inquisitors and papal courts of inquiry in most civilized countries.
