Information about the Iran hostage crisis is presented. It began in November 4, 1979 when a mob of Iranian seized the U.S. embassy in Tehran and took hostage a large group of employees. It occurred after a revolution led by the Islamic fundamentalist Ayatollah Ruholla Khomeini took place which had overthrown Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
