ABSTRACT
Information about a workshop and meeting sponsored by the Pan-American Health Organisation held in May 1999 in Saint Lucia is presented. The health reform meeting was attended by health, finance, planning and public services ministries. It is noted that the effort is to balance the reduction of healthcare costs with the need to improve the quality of the healthcare service.
