ABSTRACT
The article discusses changes enacted to A-Level English literature instruction in Great Britain in 2008 and presents the author's opinion that the new curriculum represents an improvement over the previous one. The author's involvement with the creation of the new curriculum is examined, and examples of improvements including greater flexibility, better organization, and less pressure to teach to specific examinations are explored.
