ABSTRACT
In this article, the author discusses the trends in private physicians practices. He argues that physicians are working harder for less pay and others have experienced a 20% rejection rate from insurers on first-time preauthorization requests for drugs. He contends that patient demand had a negative impact on volume due to significant increases in out-of-pocket costs and a severe recession. It notes that young physicians who want to own a business a business are becoming hard.
