ABSTRACT
The article comments on the regional project finance market of Saudi Arabia. It has been stated that closing of debt financing for the Jubail refinery project by Saudi Aramco and France's Total, and raising of 2.1bn dollar by France's GDF for a power project in Riyadh is an indication of economic recovery. It has been stated that the project financing of these two projects are achievable as local banks are lacking cash and trying to book new assets to boost their profitability.
