ABSTRACT
In this article, the author discusses the ongoing changes in retail banking in Great Britain. According to the author, the government wants to promote competition and increase consumer confidence in the stagnant banking sector. The author says that new banks, through the innovative use of information technology (IT), are well placed to compete with older banks such as Barclays PLC, Lloyds, and HSBC Holdings PLC.
