ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He notes that the conflict started after the United Nations (UN) declared the independence of Israel in 1948 and led to the Six-Day War. He adds that the Israeli attack against the Gaza Strip killing about 1,500 Palestinians was spurred by the abduction of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit by the Hamas and terrorist attacks. He stresses that some Israelis want peace despite of being viewed as murderers by other countries.
