ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the U.S. Supreme Court case Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, case number 05-184, decided on June 29, 2006. It is noted that Common article 3 cannot be violated until Yemeni national Salim Ahmed Hamdan is convicted and sentenced. Besides, the Geneva Contentions allow the defendants to enforce their rights through the Conventions' exclusive diplomatic enforcement provisions.
