ABSTRACT
The article presents an interview with Andrew McNaughton, technical director at the rail network developing company HS2 Ltd. When asked the beginning of engineering work for their high-speed rail plans (HS2), he mentions that he will begin the work from system engineering. McNaughton talks about the technological aspects, reliability, and costs concerning the HS2 project. He informs that they want to develop global system for mobile communications (GSMR) for the project.
