ABSTRACT
The article presents an interview with Republican 2008 U.S. presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. When asked why he doesn't want to talk about his devout Baptist beliefs, he refers to not wanting to be perceived as one-dimensional. When asked whether nonbelievers might not want a president who is pastor, he discusses how his experience as Arkansas governor qualifies him, and how religious bigotry should not trump that. He discusses how the Bible is inerrant, but sometimes clearly figurative.
