ABSTRACT
This article presents an interview with Physicist Taner Edis of Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, who grew up in Turkey and attended Bogazici University in Istanbul before moving to the U.S. He is the author of four books on science and faith, including "An Illusion of Harmony: Science and Religion in Islam." He says Islamic countries emphasize applied science over basic science.
