ABSTRACT
This article presents an interview with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In the last three years, the city has signed up roughly 900,000 people, children and adults, to get public coverage, Medicaid typically. Bloomberg said that the city government has first reduced the cost of building new classrooms by about one-third. Second, the government has built an awful lot of seats already by converting offices into classrooms which can be done reasonably quickly and by finding old schools that can be rented.
