ABSTRACT
An essay on the Intelligence Community Directive Number 2013 (ICD 293), an analytic standard released by the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), is presented. It mentions that the analytic standards aim to ensure that the highest standards of integrity and rigorous analytic thinking are met by all analytic elements of the Intelligence Community (IC). It states that since in the late 1940s, debate on the role of structured methods in intelligence analysis existed.
