ABSTRACT
An essay is presented on the author's days with baronet named Roger de Coverley during his stay in the latter's country house in England. The author shares the great affliction which de Coverley had experienced during his youth which he considered as no less than a disappointment in love. De Coverley had talked with him about the woman who is one of those unaccountable creatures that secretly rejoice in the admiration of men, but indulge themselves in no further consequences.
