ABSTRACT
In this essay, the authors consider the findings of the articles featured in this special issue devoted to social problems associated with low-wages and education among Puerto Ricans in the United States. Some of the topics considered include English language skills, social and educational programs designed to give skills to Puerto Rican youths and workers, and community programs designed to build relations between Puerto Rican labor, local industries, and local stakeholders.
