ABSTRACT
An essay is presented on the war in Iraq. It reflects on the controversial plan to withdraw the U.S. troops in Iraq, and discusses the consequences if the plan is realized. The author believes that the withdrawal of troops would lead to several risks including all out civil war, free rein for al-Qaeda, increased Iranian influence, more homegrown terrorism in Europe, and loss of access to Middle Eastern oil.
