ABSTRACT
The article discusses the division and unification processes for the Korean peninsula. The division of the Korea started with drawing of the 38th parallel line around August 10, 1945 as a territorial demarcation line. Later, a state division was reached with the establishment of separate governments and finally a national division occurred after the Korean war of 1950. The ongoing unification process is said to be rapidly advancing after the inter-Korean Summit held on June 15, 2000.
