ABSTRACT
The article reflects on the need for Canadian government to let its scientists speak to the media as the U.S. government has. The author says that since the victory of the Conservative Party of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2006, scientists have experienced a gradual tightening of press protocols. The author notes that it is time for Canada's government to free its scientists.
