ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the importance of considering proper appointment of a commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the role FDA play in the country's economy. She asserts that it should be considered that the products regulated by FDA accounts for 25% of the country's economy which will be at stake if commissioner appointment will not be properly addressed. She notes that FDA's role beyond premarket approval of drugs and beyond U.S. borders should also be considered.
