ABSTRACT
The author focuses on the concept of dogma. He argues that dogmas stimulate the development and progress of human civilization rather than impede it. He presents a medical case involving a 27-day-old baby that has been diagnosed with a life-long idiocy. He suggests that if dogmas were not considered in this case, then medical progress would have stayed stagnant.
