ABSTRACT
The author comments on the views of Pat Robertson, preacher and host of "700 Club" on the use of corn-based ethanol as an alternative to gasoline in the U.S. He observes that Robertson strongly opposes the suggestion of using ethanol to solve problems relative to increasing gasoline prices. Robertson also claims that the trend toward corn-based ethanol could increase hunger throughout the Third World as 33 countries report food shortages.
