ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the hype surrounding blogging, its potential benefits for institutions as well as its negative aspects. She reveals that blogging has been part of the Internet since the 1990s and is defined as a journal or chronicle of one person with commentary and links to other online sites. She argues that blogs have a variety of uses which are a natural connection to librarians. The author also claims that blogging is addictive which consumes 20 minutes to 2 hours of one's time to write a well written entry.
