ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's views on the electric power transmission and distribution (T&D) sector in India. Topics discussed include measures taken by the Indian government to free the power T&D sector from the financial problems, the Union Cabinet's programme worth 7 billion dollars to support the T&D sphere, and the aggregate technical and commercial (ATC) losses in the sector.
