ABSTRACT
The article presents information on Malian history. The country is the cultural heir to the ancient African empires Ghana, Malink� and Songhai, which controlled Saharan trade. In 1880, the military of France started the invasion of Soudan, Mali's French name. The Mali Federation was formed in January 1959 by the countries Soudan and Senegal.
