ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the national defense of Iraq. Iraq has more than 70 divisions in its army and an air force of over 70 modern aircraft after the Iran-Iraq war ended. The Iraqi Army was disintegrated when major combat operations ended in April 2003. The Iraqi military and the Ministry of Defense was officially dissolved by the Coalition Provisional Authority on May 23, 2003. The New Iraqi Army was established on August 7, 2003 to create the national self-defense force of post-Saddam Hussein Iraq.
