ABSTRACT
Chapter VIII of the book "The Story of a Bad Boy" is presented. In the morning of Independence Day, news broke that some boys burned an old stage-coach owned by Ezra Wingate. Wingate offered a reward to whoever would tell the names of those boys. The author and the others involved paid the damage they made to Wingate, and continued the celebration after solving the trouble they made. During the celebration, a barrel full of gunpowder made by some boys exploded in front of the author.
