ABSTRACT
Chapter 16 of the book "Psychosocial Nursing in General Patient Care" is presented. The chapter deals with nursing diagnoses and interventions for patients with anorexia nervosa or bulimia. Among the chronic conditions that may be caused by bulimia are sore throat, dental erosion and parotid gland enlargement. Factors to consider in the assessment of anorexia nervosa are cited including behavior, moods, emotions and beliefs.
