ABSTRACT
The article discusses developments in domestic lending in Hungary for the first half (H1) of 2014, as it predicts that corporate lending is expected to continue to increase. Topics discussed include the predictions that setting up the Hungarian central bank asset management company may improve the restrained risk appetite of banks, and that corporate lending may accelerate due to Funding for Growth Scheme (FGS), as well an expected significant but temporary decline in household loan portfolio.
