ABSTRACT
The article features the Sarvodaya Sharamadana Movement, a Buddhist non-government organization in Sri Lanka. Topics include the role of the faith-based organization in empowering internally displaced persons to take part in framing and organizing themselves and defining strategies for their own protection, and Deshodaya, Sarvodaya's key initiative which aims to promote individual and community-level action that generates understanding of peace, development, and post-conflict reconciliation.
