ABSTRACT
The article focuses on energy crisis in Pakistan, poor conditions of the Pakistan's energy sector and energy policy of Pakistan. Topics include the 1998 Power Policy's failure to attract private investment in the sector, the announcement of the Policy for the Power generation by the Pakistan's government in 2002 that encouraged exploitation of the renewable energy resources, and the National Power Policy 2013 aimed at consumer-centric power generation, transmission and distribution system.
