ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in initial public offering (IPO) activity in the U.S. in the second quarter of 2013 due to the Jumpstart Our Business Startups or JOBS Act, which makes it easier for smaller companies to raise equity capital. The comment of Henri Leveque, leader of capital markets and accounting advisory services at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), on the matter is noted. The rise in IPO in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is also discussed.
