ABSTRACT
This article reports that Le Piat d' Or Wine, one of the original branded wines beloved of 80s dinner parties, has decided to run a nationwide test to assess whether people really prefer the taste of expensive wine. Starting in Scotland and moving on to Newcastle, Cardiff, Manchester and finally London in July, Diageo-owned Piat d'Orwill set up the ‘French wine good taste test’.Participants will blind taste three glasses of French wine, redor white depending on preference, and mark them out of ten. Onewill be Le Piat d'Or, the value-for-money offering at £329, one a mid-range wine costing £6 and one a premiumbottle, at £12.
