ABSTRACT
The article explains the Producer Price Index (PPI) and other terms used by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in measuring the price changes by producers for locally manufactured goods, services and construction. It claims that PPI is the reverse of other methods like the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which assesses price changes from the purchaser's perspective. It cites the three sets of PPI, including the final demand-intermediate demand (FD-ID).
