The article presents a literary criticism of the Mulk Raj Anand's novel "Untouchable," focusing on the representation of power and plight of the Hindu social caste dalit. Topics discussed include the role of power in the development of nations and civilizations, literature as a mode to exercise power and the use of dielectic power in the literary text. The idea of a novel being a conglomeration of voices and the role of the upper and lower castes in the "Untouchable."
