ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the impact of the 2003 Iraqi war on American advertising industry. Agency executives are anxiously awaiting the initial determinations of how much they may lose as a result of the attack on Iraq. Direct mail, e-mail marketing and telemarketing are curtailed or suspended. However, television channels such as Animal Planet, Discovery Civilization, ESP, Golf Channel, Nickelodeon and Sanest are carrying regular commercial loads. The major home-shopping networks such as IHS, VC and Shop are also conducting business as usual. Many print media are continuing to publish advertisements in their sections or departments not devoted to the war.
