ABSTRACT
The article offers a brief explanation of the Final Demand-Intermediate Demand Indexes (FD-ID) of the Producer Price Index (PPI) of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). It notes that the PPI FD-ID structure measures price change for goods, services, and construction sold to final and to intermediate demands. The FD-ID system reportedly replaced the PPI stage-of-processing (SOP) system as PPI's primary aggregation model starting with the release of the January 2014 data.
