ABSTRACT
The article reports that the drop in the price of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels made the solar-generated electricity competition. Topics discussed include the role of subsidies and tax credits in the growth of the sector, the commercial operation of the 377-megawatt (MW) Ivapah Solar Electric Generating System in Mojave Desert, California and statistics showing that the solar-power market belongs to PV.
