ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's reflections regarding the apparent professional invisibility of school librarians within the larger discourse of education in the U.S. Questions are then raised seeking ways for school librarians to increase their visibility and involvement within the school curriculum and administration. The option of issuing grades to students for their library use is particularly considered.
