ABSTRACT
The article informs that before he became prime minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon spent most of his life as a military man and that the formative events for the general took place on the battlefield. It elaborates on four defining battles that forged his strategic mind, namely, the 1948 war, the 1967 Six Day War, the 1973 Yom Kippur War and the 1982 Lebanon War. It also discusses how Sharon handled the Palestinian issue when he was prime minister of Israel from 2001 to 2006.
