ABSTRACT
The article reports that Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman has defended his plan to transfer jurisdiction of some Israeli Arab towns to a future Palestinian state by saying their residents have never wanted to part of the Jewish state. Objections to Liberman's proposal are discussed which emanated both from the left and from within the coalition, including Israeli President Shimon Peres, Israeli Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar, and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
