Three graduate teachers and a researcher explore what it means to 'rethink' literacy in the context of Multiliteracies and teaching in everyday classrooms. In this paper, we will discuss how students' textual and technology engagements in school spaces were used to create a connection to their home literacy practices, recognizing that we as educators need to broaden our traditional view of literacy from straightforward reading and writing to incorporating multimodal texts (New London Group, 2000). This paper will explore the changing definition of literacies, as classroom teachers utilize varying approaches to incorporating Multiliteracies Pedagogy into their own classroom practice.
