ABSTRACT
The article discusses the influx of capital on Europe's wind-farm industry driven by its member states' aggressive renewable-energy targets, green-house gas emission reduction goals and limited land resources. Great Britain's water surroundings provide a geographic advantage making it the leader with more than half of the world's 4-gigawatt operational offshore wind capacity. It notes however that onshore wind farms are cheaper in the U.S.so there are no strong drivers for offshore projects. INSET: NO-SWIPE SUBWAY PROJECT DERAILED.
