ABSTRACT
The objective of this research was to describe the conceptions on reading of four preschool teachers and the change that such views have suffered after participating in a library project (LP) in the kindergarten school where they work. The approach was carried out through a qualitative analysis, for which strategies were selected that would enable descriptive-interpretative analysis of the teachers' history as readers. Results show that their conceptions are characterized primarily by the functionality of reading or because it takes place in a pleasant and identity builder space; when such concepts are not sufficient to explain the context, changes occur. The way each teacher conceives reading and its gradual changes has allowed the provision of a clearer accompaniment in their reading process, both inside and outside the classroom.
