ABSTRACT
The article offers the author's insights on high energy cost in Puerto Rico, one of the most problems faced by commercial and industrial enterprises in the island. He says that the price of energy has been around 29¢ to 30¢ per kilowatt-hour (kWh). He believes that the administration, along with Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (Prepa) board, need to decide to reduce the cost of energy and stop the dependency on oil.
