ABSTRACT
The article presents the final rule of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service about the bonneted bat, a bat species from south Florida, under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. The rule adds this species to the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and implements the federal protections effective on November 1, 2013. The Act emphasizes that a species or subspecies may warrant protection through listing if it is endangered or threatened throughout its range.
