ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has rejected a request for approval from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority seeking to shorten the time broker-dealers have to report trades done away from the exchanges to 10 seconds. According to SEC, the change will be costly and impossible to comply with when large blocks of shares are traded, that may require manual input of details.
