ABSTRACT
The article examines the performance of the Indian rupee (Rs.) in the week ending July 22, 2013. Moves by central banks to raise the cost of funds to make debt securities attractive to global investors reportedly had immediate positive impact as shown by the trading of the U.S. dollar. Analysts are saying that the move may also lead to a rise in the overall interest rate and boost inflation. Market experts suggest that the condition is an opportune time to invest in the long term.
