ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the sustainable and environment-friendly elements of the design of the Medical Center of the Rockies, a regional medical center owned by the University of Colorado Health. The author says the hospital earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold through the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED program. Ecology-friendly features of the hospital include the use of recyclable construction materials and low-energy and low-mercury lighting.
